permalink  There is nothing post-racial about this presidency!

As everyone knows, I did not vote for candidate BO. Frankly, I didn’t think that a first term US Senator without executive experience was ready for the most difficult job in the world.Obama

How can any serious voter say that BO was more qualified than McCain? What were these people smoking or drinking? How “drunk with change” can someone be?

On election night, I accepted the results and moved on. Democracy is about winning and losing elections but always accepting the will of the voters.

Like many, I was pleased to see the election of a black man and the post-racial administration that we were promised. I was wrong and wrong big time.

We were promised a post-racial presidency but race relations are worse than ever! Why hasn’t our first black president improved relations? Because he does not have the guts to stand up and tell his supporters to stop playing the race card …. or tell them that you can disagree with BO without being a racist!

Sadly, Pres BO has turned out to be a huge failure for black America too. Why isn’t he calling on black men to be responsible fathers? Or black gangs in Chicago to stop killing each other?

I guess that he is too busy looking for those isolated placards at tea party meetings. (By the way, did candidate BO ever complain about “the Bush insults” heard at his rallies?)

What a disappointment for those of us who saw “hope” in having a black president! Professor VD Hanson nailed it:

“The more the president appeals to his base in racial terms, the more his appointees identify themselves as members of a particular tribe, and the more political issues are framed by racial divisions, so all the more such racial obsession creates a backlash among the racially diverse American people.

America has largely moved beyond race.

Tragically, our president and a host of his supportive special interests have not.”

Welcome to BO’s “not post racial” world!

permalink  Nothing racist about the Tea Pary!

Sorry…..but there is nothing racist about the tea party! From day 1, some Dems have branded the Tea Party movement as racist.

Calling you a racist is what the left does when they can’t debate the facts……it is a cheap and easy way to attack and avoid a mature discussion.

Crybaby NAACP

I have personal experience with the “racist” accusation. I have been called a racist because I believe in legal immigration!

Why talk about the failed stimulus? Or the senseless lawsuit against Arizona that most Dems don’t want to touch in their campaigns for re-election? Or the national security implications of a bomb going off on the border? Why talk about issues like the budget deficit?

Why not shut down the debate by calling people “racist”?

I think that Pres BO should stand up and shut down all of these accusations of racism. He should remind the Dems that people can disagree with a black president and not be racist! It’s time for the post-racial president to act post-racial.

We are waiting!

permalink  How worthless is the UN?

Just ask the women of Iran!

Remember this terrible joke on women all over? Read U.N. Elects Iran to Commission on Women’s Rights.

Now, move forward to this from Power Line:

Head of Human Rights Headquarters [!] of Iran’s Judiciary, Mohammad Javad Larijani slammed Western protests against stoning emphasizing that stoning exists in Iran’s constitution and it is “legal.”

He responded to the recent campaign in international media backed by Western politicians to stop the stoning sentence of Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani, saying that Iran’s judicial system will not change its direction because of “Western attacks” and “media pressures.”

As you may recall, the Obama administration did not challenge the idea of putting Iran on this commission. I guess that Obama did not want to intervene or maybe he was too busy on something else.

Where in the world is Obama now? He sat quietly when Neda and others were murdered in the streets of Iran. Why isn’t our president doing something more? Shouldn’t we be calling for Iran to be removed from this commission?

P.S. Here is the CNN video:

permalink  The Right Direction?

BO thinks that the economy is heading in the right direction! Pres BO responded to last week’s economic report by saying that we are headed in the right direction.

I guess that we are headed in the right direction just like the border is more secured than ever.

On Friday, we got more very bad news about the US economy.

This is from The EconomistLabour without force:

…while the unemployment rate did drop, to 9.5%, an 11-month low from 9.7%, it dropped for the wrong reason: a lot of people stopped looking for work….

This is from the Wash PostEconomy lags as job growth remains weak:

“Combined with other recent data, the numbers depict a sluggish economy in which nearly 15 million people are out of work and job growth is mediocre.

There is little evidence that a dip back into recession has begun. But the chances of a strong, self-sustaining expansion that can significantly improve the job market — which seemed a real possibility during the spring — are now slim.”

Question: Whatever happened to that stimulus that was supposed to invest billions in infrastructure construction? Have you seen any bridges or roads built?

Pres BO now faces a real challenge: He will have to persuade the unemployed that things are getting better.

Good luck with that!

permalink  Arizona Is Part of the United States

Can someone tell Pres BO that Arizona is part of the US? Arizona is well known for beautiful parks, wonderful terrain and lots of people who love to spend time outdoors. Now, the Obama administration has officially announced that US sovereignty does not include portions of Arizona. Annie Jacobsen posted this:

“Eighty-five miles northwest of Tucson lies the Sonoran Desert National Monument, a lovely area designated as a national park by one of the last acts of Bill Clinton’s presidency. Today, the road to get there is closed.”

Yes, it is now officially unsafe for Arizona’s families to enjoy their own state. Yes, Arizona’s taxpayers can no longer enjoy the parks that their taxes support. Why is this happening? The simple answer is that the US-Mexico border is a war zone:

“An American national monument has become a drug-smuggling corridor between Mexico and the southwest. Wars between Mexican drug cartels have grown so severe in the park that the U.S. Bureau of Land Management (BLM), who manages it, says it’s too dangerous to enter.”

Border bandaid

Why is Obama not fulfilling his presidential duty to defend our nation against foreign invasion? Because our “I desperately need Mexican-Americans to turn out in November” Pres BO does not want to defend the homeland. This is a disgrace and Arizona has every right to feel outraged! Do you understand now why Arizona’s Democrats are desperately calling on Pres BO to stop lawsuits against their state?

Dick Morris has a great post about Pres BO courting the Hispano vote:

“Why is President Obama suing to invalidate the Arizona law on illegal immigration? Why is he incurring the enmity of even his own Democratic Congressmen from the Phoenix and Tucson areas by trying to kill a law that two-thirds of Arizona and a similar proportion of America as a whole supports?

The answer: It is a desperate, last ditch attempt to rebuild his sagging popularity with America’s Hispanic voters.

Furious at Obama for failing to keep his election year promise to promote comprehensive immigration reform when he had a super-majority at his disposal, they are deserting the president and his party in droves. Unemployment, a sagging economy, and their sharp disagreement with Obama over social issues don’t help the president’s cause any.

So Obama has seized on the Arizona immigration law as a symbolic target, hoping to accomplish in a lawsuit the political task of rebuilding his base.”

“Hispanos” are also coming to terms with the reality that they voted for change but got a Dem majority that won’t fulfill a campaign promise: Key Dem Rep says immigration reform doesn’t have the votes this year!

The Arizona situation is insane but this is Obama, the man who sat in Rev Wright’s church for 20 years but never heard a racist or anti-Jewish sermon. Frankly, I never thought that I would see our federal government tell its citizens that a park is unsafe for families to go camping, picnics or hiking. Again, this is BO’s world!

Thankfully, more and more Americans, including the millions of “hispanos” who came here legally and love “the rule of law” are checking out of “the hope and change” express.

P.S. We love Gov Brewer. It’s nice to see that someone has “pantalones” in this debate.
